Best Places to go see Christmas Lights

Riverwalk - Downtown - Millions of lights surround the San Antonio Riverwalk starting the day after Thanksgiving. Also enjoy a big Christmas Tree in front of the Alamo. Also starting from Dec. 4 to Dec. 20 enjoy Fiesta de las Luminarias, the traditional candles placed in san-filled bags that line the walkways along the Riverwalk.

University of Incarnate Word -Light the Way - See a million twinkling lights illuminate the University starting Saturday, Nov. 21. The campus will be open for self-guided tours through January 6. Windcrest Light Up- Drive through beautiful decorated homes! Many come to view the free lighting event every year. Light Up begins in mid-December and lasts through New Year's Eve.   DEC. Weekends DEC. Weekends. SeaWorlds Christmas Celebration at SeaWorld San Antonio. Experience the Christmas Celebration at SeaWorld San Antonio! SeaWorld grounds are transformed into festive Christmas decorations including wreaths and Christmas trees. It's a great place to take kids to welcome in the Christmas Holidays.

  DEC. 4-20 DEC 4-20. Fiesta de las Luminarias at the San Antonio Riverwalk. Experience the Holiday serenity of the River Walk as you stroll along the lush banks of the San Antonio River guided by more than 6,000 luminarias offering a faint touch of holiday cheer to the monumental landmark of the city. Warmly glowing candles in sand filled bags line the walkways to symbolically mark the "lighting of the way" for Holy Family. This centuries old tradition begins at dusk Friday, Saturday & Sunday only. Visit the glowing scene of the River Walk for dining, shopping and simple relaxation. This December come have the time of your life with San Antonio and its Fiesta de las Luminarias.  
       
  DEC. 4 DEC 4. Kristkindlmarkt at the Beethoven Maennerchor, San Antonio. Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm. A traditional German Christmas Outdoor Market with Hand Crafted Gifts, Clothing, Crafts, Jewelry, Florals, Arrangements, Decorations, Gingerbread Houses, Pottery, Baskets, Ornaments, Quilts & More... Come savor and enjoy the German Christmas atmosphere, foods, beverages, music, entertainment, shopping...  the  "Gemuetlichkeit" of the holiday season.  A special visit from Nikolaus (Santa Claus) for Children of all ages.  Free Admission.  Bistro & Konditorei include Erbsensuppe (Split Pea Soup), Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut, Ruben Sandwich, Kaffee und Kuchen, Gluehwein (warm, spiced wine), bier and Heisse und Kalte Getraenke.   DEC. DEC . Santa's Railroad Wonderland at the Texas Transportation Museum, San Antonio. Check schedule for days. open from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Santa's Railroad Wonderland is an event filled with fun Christmas activities. Come enjoy night time train and hay rides! The Texas Transportation Museum has transformed their forty acre site with decorated lights including the historic depot, the trains, the garden railroad, and three other scale model railroad layouts. Also, don't forget to meet Choo Choo Claus! Bring your camera and make your own Christmas memories.   DEC. 11 DEC 11. Battle of Bexar and capitulation of General Cos at La Villita , downtown San Antonio. Saturday, December 11th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Presented in Maverick Plaza and at the Cos House in Historic La Villita Free and open to the public. Sponsored by San Antonio Living History Association and The City of San Antonio Downtown Operations Department  
       
  DEC. 11 DEC 11. Tamales! at Pearl: A Holiday Family Festival at the Pearl is dedicated to the San Antonio holiday tradition of eating tamales. Free tamale samplings, but bring cash if you want to purchase a few dozen to take home. Storytelling, mariachi music, aguas frescas, and holiday treats will be found throughout the Pearl grounds starting from the can near Synergy Studio all the way to the River Walk. When the sun sets, music & dancing take center stage from 6 - 9 p.m. with a fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. $5 donation at the gate per adult will benefit the San Antonio Food Bank.  
     
  DEC. 18, 19 DEC 18, 19. COWBOY CHRISTMAS at the Enchanted Springs Ranch in Boerne, TX. Experience the Christmas Season “Old West” style with a whole schedule of events (rides, shows, gunfights, games & prizes) throughout the day!  Food and drinks will be available for purchase. There will be lots of vendors, as well as our own Trading Post for your last minute Christmas shopping. Purchase your tickets at the door. Adults $12; Children (4-12) $6.   DEC. 19. DEC 19. La Gran Posada downtown San Antonio. Starts at 6pm. at Milam Park and concludes at San Fernando Cathedral. It's a re-enactment of the biblical account of Joseph and Mary's search for lodging in Bethlehem on the eve of Jesus' birth.
